Why create a STITCH GUIDE?...
Go To Post Why create a STITCH GUIDE?
I create a STITCH GUIDE because it helps me picture what I am trying to achieve. It takes out some of the unknown. It narrows my choices. It helps to prevent the 10 minutes of ‘uhmmm” that can proceed the actual threading of the needle!
The most important thing to remember in today’s post is the word GUIDE. Scrolling through the carousel of pictures and you will see the stitch OPTIONS I have put forth for each of the design elements / motifs of @clairechangtetz ‘s GOLDEN AFTERNOON. While stitching, when I begin each element, I will talk about my thoughts behind the stitches. If they don’t work - well - that’s what stitch rippers are for!
To all the stitchers out there - when working your own design, do you create a stitch plan? Do you find it works to your advantage? Or do you like to fly by the seat of your pants?
