EMBROIDERER

ARTIST isn’t a word that JODI would ever use to describe herself. Although she will admit to being CREATIVE. JODI can barely draw and certainly can’t paint or sculpt.  She has no skill with a camera. And aren’t those skills people associate with being an artist? But give her a needle - any needle - knitting, crochet, sewing - that is where JODI’s skill lies.  So as long as you call her a NEEDLEWORK ARTIST, she’s ok with it. A student of the Certificate Program at the Royal School of Needlework, in England, all the embroidery in the SILK/SOIE collection are JODI’S handiwork.  Painstakingly stitched and often taking months to complete, each piece of embroidery is an original work. In these pages, JODI shares her PROCESS, and is thrilled to finally be able to share showcase her NEEDLEWORK as WEARABLE ART.
